Primaire immuundeficiënties zijn zeldzame, complexe immuundisregulatieaandoeningen veroorzaakt door een defect in het functioneren van het immuunsysteem. Binnen de primaire immuundeficiënties zijn primaire antistofdeficiënties met een prevalentie van ongeveer 1:25.000 het meest voorkomend. Het klinisch beeld is heterogeen, met onder andere een verhoogd risico op infecties, auto-immuunziekte en maligniteiten. De behandeling richt zich op behandeling en voorkomen van infecties met antibiotica en immuunglobulinesuppletie. Daarnaast wordt immuunsuppressie geadviseerd bij auto-immuuncomplicaties. In dit artikel wordt de huidige stand van zaken ten aanzien van huidige behandelingen besproken alsmede een blik op toekomstige behandelingen.
