Op 25 november 2016 promoveerde mw. R. Thijssen aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam op haar promotieonderzoek getiteld ‘The interplay between microenvironmental signaling and novel targeted drugs in CLL’, onder begeleiding van promotores prof. dr. A.P. Kater, prof. dr. E.F. Eldering en copromotor prof. dr. M.J. Kersten. Hieronder zijn de belangrijkste bevindingen van haar onderzoek weergegeven.
