Immuun trombocytopenie is een zeldzame auto-immuunziekte die gekenmerkt wordt door ernstige trombocytopenie en een verhoogd risico op bloedingen.1,2 Met de huidige beschikbare behandelingen bereikt ongeveer 20% van deze patiënten het aantal van >50.000/μl bloedplaatjes niet, neemt hun respons af of worden zij intolerant voor de behandeling.3,4 Tijdens het ISTH-congres 2025 presenteerde dr. David Kuter (Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, VS) de definitieve resultaten van een fase II-studie met verschillende doseringen van het volledig humane anti-CD38 monoklonale antilichaam mezagitamab bij patiënten met persisterende of chronische immuun trombocytopenie, na een follow-up van 32 weken.5
